(Romans 11:16-36 [KJV])
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

(Romans 11:16 [KJV]) For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
This “firstfruits” isn’t explained in the King James english, but the first fruits being referred too is (Numbers 15:20-21 [KJV]) Ye shall offer up a cake of the first of your dough for an heave offering: as ye do the heave offering of the threshingfloor, so shall ye heave it. Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the LORD an heave offering in your generations.
The person would take the first of their dough and make a small loaf and set it aside for YHVH and the rest of the dough was usable to make bread for the family.
The word used here in Numbers for “cake” is “challah”. Challah is a type of Jewish bread consumed on Shabbat and other special holydays. Challah is leavened, the Olive tree is alive. Any reference to the Kingdom of God is about a living, growing organism. But back to the scripture;
(Romans 11:16 [KJV]) For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
So if the cake is holy, so is the rest of the lump from which the cake was produced. If the root is holy, so are the branches. Judaism has been infected by paganism just like Christianity, but the root from which it has grown is holy.
(Romans 11:17 [KJV]) And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree
We were taken from our gentile wild olive tree and graffed into the holy, cultivated olive tree of YHVH.
(Romans 11:18 [KJV]) Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee
Boast not against the branches. Who are the branches in Paul’s teaching? The Jews that are still on the tree are the Messianic Jews, the branches that were broken off are the unbelieving Jews.
(I Corinthians 4:7 [KJV]) For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? Granted this is taken from Paul telling the Corinthian church not to put ministers on a pedestal, but the principle is still the same. You are where YHVH put you, not what you deserve within yourself.
(Romans 11:19-21 [KJV]) Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
The apostle is giving the idea here that the gentile is lifted up in pride, as if Yahweh prefers gentiles to Jews, Paul has already dealt with that earlier in (Romans 10:12 [KJV]) For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Remember Hebrews; (Hebrews 3:17-19 [KJV]) But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
The broken off Jews were broken off because of unbelief, the gentiles that have been grafted in have been grafted in because of belief. Still, I believe maybe I used this scripture in a recent episode, but; (I Corinthians 4:7 [KJV]) For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
(Romans 11:22 [KJV]) Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
I always have to shake my head at the once saved always saved folks. That is not taught in the Word of God! (James 4:6 [KJV]) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. You can be cut off!
(Romans 11:23-24 [KJV]) And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
(John 10:16 [KJV]) And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd
The longer I study the more I believe in this “one fold, and one Shepherd”. I don’t know how Yahweh will judge it in the end, but the church has strayed so far from the original covenant. For millennia those that would come to the Father have been deceived by the teachings of the Roman Babylonian Church. We are taught, especially as ministers, we are taught to look at the scripture through the lens of the New Testament, in doing that, reading for Revelation backward, we lose the idea of the Covenant we have clearly been graffed into. Paul says; (Galatians 3:27-29 [KJV]) For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. This is what we have been graffed into. Again in Ephesians, (Ephesians 2:12-13 [KJV]) That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. We were strangers to the covenants of promise, but no longer.
I am not advocating for the church of God close the doors on all of our buildings and start gathering in the synagogues of the Jews, the Jews have absorbed paganism of their own over the course of time. But we as a people need to be mindful of the teachings of the Torah. The Torah didn’t go anywhere when Yahweh adopted gentiles, it is just now written on the hearts of all of His people instead of the tablets of stone.
(Romans 11:25 [KJV]) For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
The CJB translates the passage this way; For, brothers, I want you to understand this truth which God formerly concealed but has now revealed, so that you won’t imagine you know more than you actually do. It is that stoniness, to a degree, has come upon Isra’el, until the Gentile world enters in its fullness;
Why is that important? Paul is warning the graffed in gentile believers to believe they have received this gift due to their intelligence. Yahweh has blinded the Jews at this point in history. They should be able to see it but they can’t, until this time of the gentiles is finished, then, and only then will the Jews; (Zechariah 12:10 [KJV]) And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn
inside I’m kicking and screaming because I want to go off on this tangent so bad! Zechariah holds so much prophecy for what I believe is soon to be our day, but that’s a topic for another time.
(II Corinthians 3:14-16 [KJV]) But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
The day is coming when that vail will be taken away.
(Romans 11:26 [KJV]) And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
I do not believe this to mean literally “all Israel”. Yeshua tells the apostle Yochannan, sorry, I love doing that! In (Revelation of John 2:9 [KJV]) I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan
They may have Jewish blood, or blood from any of the other 11 tribes for that matter, but that doesn’t mean they are Yahweh’s people.
(Romans 11:27-28 [KJV]) For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.
Concerning the gospel they are enemies for our sakes? This is the time for the grafting in of the gentiles.
They are beloved for the fathers’ sake. That is interesting. Personally I would read this and think for “our heavenly Father’s sake”, but that is not the meaning here. The meaning is for the patriarchs sake.
(Genesis 12:1-3 [KJV]) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.(Numbers 23:19 [KJV]) God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
(Romans 11:29 [KJV]) For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance
(Malachi 3:6 [KJV]) For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed
And now Paul summarizes;
(Romans 11:30-36 [KJV]) For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. Amen.

Until next time this is brother Jason reminding you, Jesus is not in the godhead!
(Colossians 2:9 [KJV]) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily
The godhead is in Jesus! Goodbye and God bless!
